Adopter Veterinary Information

Thank you for adopting a dog or puppy from Big Bones Canine Rescue.  We appreciate you choosing a rescue!

We recommend puppies have 3 sets of puppy shots.  The first two sets should include, at a minimum, parvo/distemper and bordatella.  The third set will include parvo/distemper, bordatella, and rabies.  Each set is given 3-4 weeks apart.  We also recommend deworming treatments and heartworm prevention.  Our veterinarians can provide you with additional information on how to best care for your new furry friend.

We recommend adult dogs have annual vaccinations as recommended by your veterinarian and in compliance with local laws.

IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO NOT VACCINATE YOUR DOG/PUPPY.  Many diseases are highly contagious and deadly.  Your pet does NOT have immunity to these diseases until they have completed their recommended vaccinations.
